Chairman of the Board of Directors Chief Executive Officer
Andrew G. (Andy) Inglis joined Kosmos on March 1, 2014 as chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors. With more than 30 years of experience, he is one of the most respected upstream executives in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Inglis came to Kosmos most recently from Petrofac where he was chief executive of the Integrated Energy Services business and a member of the board of directors. Prior to Petrofac, he spent 30 years with BP, most recently as CEO of its exploration and production business. He was an executive director on the BP board between 2007 and 2010. From 2004 to 2007, he was BP executive vice president and deputy chief executive of exploration and production, with responsibility for BP's growth areas, including Azerbaijan, Angola, Algeria, Gulf of Mexico, Egypt, Trinidad, and the Asia-Pacific region. He is a former non-executive director of BAE Systems plc and TNK-BP Ltd. Mr. Inglis holds a master’s degree in Engineering from Pembroke College, Cambridge University. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
Brian F. Maxted is a member of the board of directors and the company’s retired chief exploration officer. Mr. Maxted served as chief executive officer for three years and led all aspects of the business to create a world-class organization before choosing to return to exploration. Before co-founding Kosmos in 2003, he was senior vice president of exploration for Triton Energy, where he led a series of discoveries offshore Equatorial Guinea. He also managed the discovery of several large gas/condensate fields by Carigali-Triton Operating Company in the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area and the discovery and confirmation of Colombia’s giant Cusiana and Cupiagua oil fields. Following the sale of Triton to Amerada Hess Corporation (now Hess Corporation), Mr. Maxted oversaw continued Hess exploration success in Equatorial Guinea as senior vice president of global exploration and new ventures. He also led the company’s Gulf of Mexico deepwater strategy. Prior to its recent acquisition, Mr. Maxted was a member of the board of directors of Broad Oak Energy, a company that focuses on improving recovery from mature U.S. onshore oil and gas producing regions. He holds a master’s degree in organic geochemistry and petrology from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and a bachelor of science in geology from the University of Sheffield.
Sir Richard B. Dearlove has been a member of the Kosmos board of directors since December 2012. Sir Richard is Master of Pembroke College at the University of Cambridge, a position he has held since retiring as head of the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) in 2004. During his 38-year tenure with MI6, Sir Richard was stationed in multiple international locations before managing the MI6 Washington, D.C. office beginning in 1991. Sir Richard returned to the U.K. to serve as MI6 director of personnel and administration in 1993, director of operations in 1994 and assistant chief in 1998. In 1984 he was awarded an OBE (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) and in 2001 he was appointed a KCMG (Knight Commander of St. Michael and St. George), both for his distinguished service. Sir Richard has held several trustee and advisory positions, including serving as a trustee of Kent School in Connecticut, honorary fellow of Queens’ College, University of Cambridge, member of the international advisory board of AIG, senior advisor to the Monitor Group, chairman of Ascot Underwriting, member of the advisory board of IrisGuard, member of the advisory board of New Venture Partners, chairman of trustees of the Cambridge Union Society and member of the strategic advisory board of TimeSight Systems. Sir Richard received a master of arts degree in history from Queens’ College, Cambridge, after spending a year at Kent School.
Ms. Goodwin currently serves as a Director of Arcadis NV and as a Director of Oceaneering International Inc. Ms. Goodwin served as President of the North America region of Technip, a global engineering, construction and services company specializing in supporting the energy industry, from 2013 to 2017. She served as Chief Operating Officer, Offshore North America at Technip from 2012 to 2013. Prior thereto, she served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Technip USA, Inc. Previously, Ms. Goodwin led the integration of the $1.3 billion acquisition of Global Industries by Technip. From 1993 to 2007, Ms. Goodwin served in various capacities for Veritas DGC, a leading provider of geophysical information and services to oil and gas companies worldwide, including President of the North and South America Region. Earlier in her career, Ms. Goodwin served as an Audit Manager at Price Waterhouse. Ms. Goodwin received her Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the University of Calgary in Canada and her Chartered Accountant designation from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Adebayo ("Bayo") O. Ogunlesi has served as a Kosmos director since 2004. Ogunlesi has been chairman and managing partner of Global Infrastructure Partners ("GIP") since 2006. The private equity firm invests in infrastructure assets in the energy, transport and water sectors, in both OECD and select emerging markets countries. He previously served as executive vice chairman and chief client officer of the Credit Suisse Investment Banking Division, with senior responsibility for the company’s corporate and sovereign investment banking clients. From 2002 to 2004, he was head of the Credit Suisse Global Investment Banking Department. Ogunlesi holds a bachelor of arts in politics, philosophy and economics with first class honors from Oxford University, a juris doctor (magna cum laude) from Harvard Law School and a master of business administration from Harvard Business School. From 1980 to 1981, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Thurgood Marshall, associate justice of the United States Supreme Court.
Chris Tong has served as a Kosmos director since February 2011. Tong is as a director and chairman of the audit committee of Targa Resources Corp. and Cloud Peak Energy Inc. He was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Noble Energy, Inc., from January 2005 until August 2009. He previously served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for Magnum Hunter Resources, Inc., and before that as senior vice president of finance of Tejas Acadian Holding Company and its subsidiaries, including Tejas Gas Corp., Acadian Gas Corporation and Transok, Inc., all of which were wholly owned subsidiaries of Tejas Gas Corporation. Prior to Tejas, worked in energy banking for Bankers Trust (now Deutsche Bank), Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, and Post Oak Bank of Houston. Tong holds a bachelor of arts in economics summa cum laude from the University of Louisiana Lafayette (formerly the University of Southwestern Louisiana)
