Marvin M. Garrett has nearly three decades of experience managing oil and gas drilling, production and development activities worldwide.

As vice president, operations for Triton Energy, Garrett led the fast-track development of the deepwater Ceiba oil field discovery offshore Equatorial Guinea. While with Triton, Garrett also managed the company’s drilling program in Argentina, China, Ecuador, Greece, Guatemala and Italy. Following Triton’s sale to Amerada Hess Corporation (subsequently Hess Corporation) in 2001, Garrett served as vice president of production during Triton’s transition from a public company to a Hess business unit.

In the early 1990s, Garrett entered the international oil and gas arena as a drilling supervisor for British Gas in the Middle East. He headed the operations team for the Kerkennah West oil and gas venture onshore and offshore Tunisia. In 1992, British Gas seconded Garrett to Zaafarana Oil Company in Egypt where he led the development of the 40-million-barrel Warda oil field in the Gulf of Suez, which included the fabrication and construction of a wellhead platform and the utilization of an FPSO.

Garrett has extensive operational expertise in the U.S. Gulf Coast region, both onshore and offshore. He began his career at Tenneco Oil Company as a drilling engineer.
